What is Solution Focused Therapy?

If you haven’t heard about Solution Focused Therapy before, here is everything you need to know about it.

Solution Focused Therapy is an evidence-based talking therapy incorporating positive psychology principles and practices. It’s a very modern and forward-thinking approach that’s based on the latest neuroscience.

This therapeutic model helps you to understand how your brain works, why you’ve been feeling stuck, or feeling or behaving in a certain way, and what you can do to support your brain to move away from this.

Focus on the future rather than the past

A big difference between Solution Focused Therapy and other talking therapies such as CBT is that it focuses on your preferred future rather than your past. By focusing on how you would like to be moving forwards, this therapy is all about finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems. Clients say this makes the therapy feel very positive, motivating and supportive.

In addition, as an accredited hypnotherapist, I often use hypnosis in sessions to support you with making positive change. Hypnosis feels like deep relaxation, and in this state, I can get access to your subconscious part of the brain which is the part of your brain which is receptive to change. During hypnosis, you are totally in control and can continue your day with everything you had planned.

As well as using hypnosis in our sessions, you can benefit from your own relaxation recordings to listen to outside of sessions.
